What's going on in YWAM

Here's a video kind of summing up what God has been stirring up here in Kona as well as around the world. It's not only me who is experiencing deeper levels of intimacy with Jesus, it's this campus as a whole and it's incredible. Bless you!

The second love of my life

So, since my number one love is Jesus, and He told me to fast dating for the next 9 months, my new love is coffee!!! No probably not really but I do enjoy it... especially when I don't have one for a while and I get a special treat. I just got an iced Americano at the Aloha cafe on campus with cream and sugar... and it was such a treat. Bless you, coffee!!!

Life at its sweetest

So I babysit this 5 year old boy from Argentina every Wednesday afternoon, his name is Mirko. He is such a tender, sweet hearted little boy and I just adore him. He's going to have such a heart for the nations one day! (That's my hope for him anyway). So Mirko has a best friend here named Pedro. Pedro is from Brazil so they both are native spanish speakers being trained to only speak English. Their friendship is the sweetest thing I've seen for a long time. Mirko will be having little adventures picking flowers or looking at leaves when out of no where Pedro appears. Once they realize they are in the same vascinity as the other they shout each others names... Mirko says "PEDRO!!!!" and Pedro does the same to Mirko. No matter how far away they are from each other they run towards each other with their arms open wide then they hug each other for a good 30 seconds. It is so precious. After they hug, they look at each other and giggle a bit, then start playing whatever game they choose (usually tag).

As I watched this little pattern of theirs over and over yesterday, my heart was filled with so much joy. I prayed, "Lord let this friendship last through their lifetimes that they can keep each other accountable to loving you" etc... Then I thought about Jonathan and David's friendship talked about in 1 Samuel 18 - "After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself." That's just one verse but throughout the next few chapters the description of the deep love and friendship these two men of God had together is just so mind blowing. Friendship is such a special thing, and I cannot stress enough how thankful I am for my best buds.

Photoshoot

So after church this morning me and a few girls took some pics by the water. It was phenominal and it is such a peaceful spot.

How I adore His presence

Wow. So just a quick update on the life of Britney:

God has been smacking me hard with His presence lately and it is so divine. I have never imagined the levels of intimacy that are involved with this relationship with Christ, but it has been overcoming me each and everyday here. His presence has brought so much joy into my life. Deep joy, not just temporary happiness. I am becoming so content with where I am with Jesus and not feeling that I am lacking anything. Everyday His presence touches me DEEPER than ever and I am so amazed and grateful. My heart is broken for those who do not know the deep levels of intimacy that the Lord provides. It's more than being a good Christian, it's about growing more and more each day with my Savior. From that relationship, fruit flourishes in our lives. I am so overcome right now I cannot even express how amazing He is.

I just had to get that out there. Everyone needs this intimacy. On another note, I'm going to post a blog in a sec with fun photos, but it's such a different theme from this that I had to make them separate.

Thank you Jesus!!!!!!!!

Sailing :-)

I just got back from sailing with my friends Tracy and Jeff, along with two older men and a girl named Jill. :-) It was a blast except when I got super sea-sick. The water was pretty though!

Britney is...

... learning guitar!!! I had my first lesson with my roommate Christina like twenty minutes ago. She's so good and my fingers hurt.. in fact they are numb at the tips. I am so excited to get good though. I think I may make a video and post it of each thing I learn every week. Well, maybe. We'll see. Here's some fun pics Christina took that make me look like I know what I'm doing!

Love it

Cute Video :-) I love kids!

Missing my friend

Oh my dear Leah Strand. I was just looking over some pictures from my SBS one year ago - some pictures of one of my best friends who helped me get through. I have so many fond memories with this woman from all we both went through during the 9 months we lived together. God totally arranged our friendship and I am so grateful for that. He knew we needed each other. I am crying as I'm typing right now. This probably sounds like she's dead or hurt or something, it's NOT that. She's still kickin in her hometown of Bellingham Washington. But my heart is in pain as I think about the distance between us.
LEAH, your friendship means more to me that you'll ever imagine. I'm sorry we're not able to talk much these days. I really miss you. I am constantly inspired when I reflect on all the amazing things God delivered you from during our time here - he's now doing those same things in my life! My heart hurts. Leah, thank you for your friendship and for being who God created you to be. I love and miss you way too much.

Living Stones

So today I actually went to church!!! During my entire SBS I went to church once... lol. But today I went to "Living Stones" and it's right on the ocean. It's beautiful plus the presence of God was there in a very peaceful way. Here's some beautiful pics from there.

Here's the church from the view of the water

Sendin some love...

.. your way! One more sunset pic for the record.

P.S. don't worry, the horizon wasn't really tilted! hahaha

Lost but found; blind but am learning to see!

Lost: after I got sushi on Thursday night, I got home and realized my cell phone was missing! I looked every where, even in the car but it was no where to be found. The sushi joint was closed by then and I was freaking out. But God challenged me: is you cell phone that important to you? Chill out - I've got your back. That's pretty much what he said. I prayed. I found my cell phone today at the sushi place safe and sound. :-)

Now, for the blind part. I feel like I've had this vail over my eyes and heart for way too long which sucked me of any desire to be intimate with Jesus. I didn't want to take an hour or two out of my day to go spend time soley with Him, warfaring for those in my life and learning about Him... BUT that vail is slowly being stripped away and I am able to look more and more into my Creator's eyes. I've had some intense experiences since I've been back here - the Holy Spirit is taking control! But it's what I asked of Him... He is faithful. He is giving me a deeper desire for Him and helping heal me from the inside out. WOW I'm only scratching the surface. Ask me if you want to know more about what He's doing!!!!!

Good night.

Sunset and Sushi

So we had an awesome sunset tonight... this is just a glimpse of it from my window... the screen is in the way, sorry. Also, this is the beautiful sushi that you get if you come to Kona!!! So plump and glorious. M'mm
